“What A Lying Man”Kuria Calls Out Gachagua, Claims He Endorsed Original Finance Bill

Date:

Moses Kuria has yet again come out to call out Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, accusing him of lying.

In a tweet, Kuria said that Gachagua was among those who endorsed VAT on bread and milk.

“The Committee meeting that endorsed the original Finance Bill which included VAT for milk and bread was chaired by the Deputy President. What a lying, dishonorable man!: he said.

Kuria made the revelation shortly after Gachagua’s press briefing on Tuesday’s anti-Finance Bill 2024 protests, that saw President William Ruto reject the bill, sending it back to parliament.

In his statement, Gachagua blamed Norordin Haji, the Director General of National Intelligence Service, for the protests.

According to him, Haji did not provide the government with an actual report about citizens’ take on the controversial Bill.

“I sympathize with President Ruto because this information was not available to him. NIS is mandated to provide such information and that is where the problem is; we have a dysfunctional NIS that has exposed the President, the government and the people of Kenya,” said Gachagua.

“Noordin Haji must take responsibility for the deaths that have occurred, the mayhem witnessed and for failing Ruto, the government and Kenya by not doing his job and advising correctly. He must not just take responsibility but resign from that office and allow the president to pick a competent DG,” the second in command added.

At the same time, Gachagua noted that Haji was not competent enough for the Director General position, calling upon him to resign, even after taking responsibility.

“When he was appointed to the office of the Director General, he chased away all the people who were senior to him when he was in the service because of an inferiority complex, crippling NIS and making it dysfunctional,” he said.
