Salasya Reacts After Being Urged To Ran Away With Finance Bill Like Taiwan MP

Date:

Kenyans are keen on ensuring that the controversial Finance Bill 2024 is not passed by all means.

From trending hashtag #rejectfinancebill2024, to leaking of contact numbers of MPs for the public to coerce them in rejecting the bill, Kenyans are out to ensure that the bill does not pass, lamenting that it seeks to further burden them.

After the contacts were leaked, several MPs confirmed to have received thousand of calls and messages on the matter, as well as threats on the consequences they would face if they dare pass the bill.

“It is true someone must have shared our contacts right from the President down to Members of Parliament. We have been receiving messages. For the record I have received close to 3,000 messages with 50 per cent  of them being very vulgar,” South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro said.

Mumias East MP Peter Salasya was also not an exception to that.

“There are almost 5,000 numbers here calling me. And some are Kenya Kwanza supporters calling me after they voted for President William Ruto. Why disturb me when I am an Azimio member?” Salasya said.

He told Kenyans calling him to instead call Kenya Kwanza MPs who are the majority and likely to have the final say on the issue.

Kenyans have however not given up in considering him as a savior on the matter.

Bringing up the issue of a Taiwan MP, who grabbed a bill and ran away with to to ensure that it is not passed, a section of Kenyans think that Salasya is the right man for the job.

“Salasya, a whole nation is relying on you to do the same because the gods must be crazy,” a social media user suggested.

Salasya re-shared the post and said, “Hello Guys,” leaving netizens confused about his motive.

Others are convinced that he might let them down as he might begin laughing after snatching the bill, suggesting that he should hand it to Babu Owino soon after.
