Former Chelsea Captain John Terry has been inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame.
A Chelsea Academy graduate and outstanding central defender, John Terry made his Premier League debut during the 1998/99 season and would go on to make 492 appearances in the competition.
Five titles were claimed along the way. The first was our dominant 2004/05 triumph during which we conceded just 15 goals and kept 25 clean sheets. Both remain Premier League records.
The Premier League trophy would be retained the following season and lifted again in 2009/10, 2014/15 and Terry’s final campaign at Stamford Bridge, 2016/17.
Terry is the second former Blue to be inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame this year alongside Ashley Cole – and they join ex-Chelsea teammates Petr Cech, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba.
‘I’m very grateful to have been voted into the Premier League Hall of Fame,’ said Terry. ‘I’m a player that certainly gave my all whenever I stepped out on the pitch and to be recognised in this way makes me really proud,” he stated.
Andy Cole has also been inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame.
