Gor Mahia Falters in FKF Premier League Match Against Homeboyz

Date:

Gor Mahia missed an opportunity to open up a 10-point lead at the summit of the FKF Premier League table following a goalless draw against Kakamega Homeboyz at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Saturday.

K’Ogalo will blame themselves for failing to get maximum points as they should have scored at least two goals in the first half.

Following the draw, Gor is still on top of the FKF Premier League log with 51 points followed by Tusker FC and Bandari respectively who both suffered defeat in their Saturday matches.

Elsewhere, Shabana FC ended their six-match wait for an FKF Premier League win by defeating Posta Rangers 3-0 in a match staged at the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay on Saturday afternoon.

With ten games left before the season concludes, the Glamour Boys knew that they had to start winning if they were to avoid relegation, with their last league win dating back to mid-January.

At the Ulinzi Sports Complex, Ulinzi Stars eased their relegation fears with a 1-0 win over visiting Bandari FC. Ibrahim Shambiheaded home the goal at the half-hour mark. Ulinzi had to play the final 11 minutes of the game a man down after Mark Bikokwa was given his marching orders.

At the Muhoroni Stadium, hosts Muhoroni Youth FC also intensified their efforts to avoid relegation, picking up a 2-0 win over Nairobi City Stars. Jackson Green scored the opener in the 27th minute from the spot after Robin Asenwa was adjudged to have handled the ball in the area.Stephen Bulugu then added a second in stoppage time scoring straight from a freekick.

Tusker FC failed to close the gap with Gor Mahia after suffering a 3-2 defeat against Kariobangi Sharks in an FKF Premier League match played on Saturday, April 6, at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

The win was inspired by talented striker John Makwatta who grabbed a brace in a thrilling encounter against the Brewers. Julius Masaba was also on the score sheet to assure the Slum Boys against second-placed Tusker FC.

Dennis Oguta and Ojok Deogratious scored Tusker’s goals for the match.
