CCTV footage obtained by detectives probing the case has shown the last moments of a 19-year-old girl who was reportedly pushed from the 10th floor of an apartment in Thome estate, Kasarani area.
According to the CCTV footage, the girl checked into the apartment at around 3 am with a male companion. The girl was wearing a red T-shirt and white trousers while the male companion was wearing jeans trousers and a white striped T-shirt.
From the footage, the man is seen leaving the lift on the 10th floor while holding the hand of the 19-year-old girl. He heads in the wrong direction before turning back and heading straight to the short-stay apartment.
The final bit of the CCTV showed the man struggling before opening the door as the girl waited. He then manages to open and the girl is seen entering the house first before he follows.
That was the last time the girl was seen alive. Hours after entering the house, the lifeless body of the girl was discovered and she had only the red T-shirt.
According to detectives, the man who checked in the house with the girl was found unconscious with eight stab wounds.
After examining the scene of the crime, they discovered that blood was splattered on the floor of the sitting room and bathroom walls a clear indication of either a struggle between two people or a man fighting for his life.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the girl could have jumped or pushed from the balcony of the house.
However, detectives are pursuing three other suspects who are believed to have been in the house during the incident. Although they are still at large, detectives are banking on their information to get at the bottom of the matter.
