ODM leader Raila Odinga has maintained the African Union chairmanship will not hinder him from attending to Kenyans.
Speaking in Kisii on Thursday, the former Prime Minister said Addis Ababa, where his office will be based, is just two hours away from Kenya.
He said that he would be more than willing to take a break from the African Union job to attend to Kenyans at any time.
“I am with you, Baba is not going anywhere. If I go to Addis Ababa, its just 2 hours on a flight. I spend the night in Kisii, in the morning I leave and at 10 am am there working and then I return on Friday.
“If you want me at any time I will always be available. Let’s walk together and unite the African continent and also our country Kenya to move forward. We will fulfill all that we had promised,” he said.
The ODM leader further said that he went to Uganda to look for President Yoweri Museveni’s vote for his AU bid and that he will also be meeting leaders from other countries for the same purpose.
“Ruto also came, he had his own activities. I also told him that I want his vote. They all agreed and Museveni said he will propose me. This week I am going to meet Kagame. Mama Suluhu I am confident that she will vote for me. Salva Kiir has accepted. The whole of East Africa has endorsed me. I will also head to the South, Ramaphosa already agreed and Tshisekedi too,” he said.
Raila added that following the support, he is ready to face his opponent and it wouldn’t be a problem if he doesn’t scoop the seat.
“Sasa mi naona yule ambaye atataka tutamenyana naye kwa kiwanja, akiniangusha sawasawa,” he said.
