7 candidates have been shortlisted for the position of the Chief Registrar of the Judiciary.
The 7 were shortlisted from 43 applications, according to Chief Justice Martha Koome.
“Having reviewed the applications for completeness and conformity with the constitutional and statutory requirements, the Commission shortlisted a total of seven candidates,”she said in a notice that was issued on Friday.
The shortlisted candidates are; Rose Macharia Wachuka, Jack Ouma Busalile Mwimali, Anne Wambeti Ireri, Paul Ndemo Maina, Caroline Kendagor Jepyegen and Kennedy Kandet Lenkamai.
They are candidates will be interviewed on March 18, 2024.
The successful candidate will succeed Anne Amadi, who retired from the position after serving for 10 years.
Amadi officially handed over to her deputy Paul Ndemo on January 12 2024 after proceeding on a terminal leave in November 2023.
The hand over ceremony was presided by Koome at the Milimani Law Courts.
“We are grateful for the service that you have rendered to this country and for seeing NCAJ from nothing when it was established with no infrastructure, human resource or money, to see it standing where we are today,” Koome said.
Amadi was preceded by Gladys Boss Shollei, who currently serves as Uasin Gishu Women Rep.
She is also the only Chief Registrar of the Judiciary who has had the privilege of administering the oath of office to two Presidents.
She swore in retired president Uhuru Kenyatta in 2017, and the siiting head of state William Ruto in September 2022.
