Meru governor Kawira Mwangaza had a rough time while addressing a crowd during President William Ruto’s visit.
Ruto invited Mwangaza to address the crowd but the crowd was not willing to give her their ears.
“Thank you, president, because you have brought us developments. I pray that the youths can be given jobs so that they are not used. Kaende Kaende.
“I am request Dan Kihili and Hon Mithika Linturi to give them good jobs so that they can stop making noise,” Mwangaza said in her short-lived speech as the deafening noises rocked the air.
Ruto was unpleased with the turn of events that he gave the crowd a piece of his mind.
“Nataka vijana mskie, mambo ya kukuja kupiga kelele kwa mkutano ya rais mimi sitaki. Mskie vizuri. Tabia kama hii mimi sitaki tena. Hii ni kukosa heshima! Mimi nataka kila kiongozi apatiwe heshima yake. Tabia kama hii iwe ya mwisho leo,” the head of state said.

The heckling was witnessed soon after Senate Deputy Speaker Kathuri Murungi asked Ruto to intervene on the murder of Meru blogger Sniper.
“You Excellency, we have a young man called Sniper who lives not far from here and he has not been buried…because you are our leader we want to request you to ensure he gets justice,” he said.
Ruto assured the residents that the government was working towards ensuring that those responsible for the murder are brought to book.
