There was a standstill at Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o’s office in Kisumu after agitated traders stormed the premises.
The traders invaded the governor’s office demanding for the immediate ouster of acting City Manager Abala Wanga over constant disruptions of their business through demolitions and the planned relocation of Kisumu Bus stage.
They carried placards demanding for the removal of Wanga.
“We have gathered here to ensure small business people within the CBD of Kisumu. We are here because of the conduct of our city manager Abala Wanga.
“We will not agree to moving the bus park to Molem. We will not agree with the demolition of Nyamlori. A whole primary school in Kisumu is where hotels are being built including kiosks for selling alcohol,” the stage manager said
The businessmen and women vowed to paralyze revenue collection if their grievances are not addressed.

Meanwhile, the Kisumu county government launched integrated revenue management system(RMS) recently.
According to Nyong’o, the move will enable the county government attain its revenue collection target.
“Kisumu county launches new integrated Revenue Management System(RMS). I wish to thank the Revenue Board and@SafaricomPLC for putting this new system in place. This will help us reach our target of Sh 2.2 Billion,” he shared on X
RMS was set up for to address concerns in revenue management and service delivery targeting the unstructured revenue streams such as markets, bus park, parking, CESS, stock ring, slaughter as well as clamping.
Safaricom is the service provider for the system
