Jubilee secretary general Jeremiah Kioni has said that President William Ruto will not receive the same support he did in Mt. Kenya in 2022 general elections.
Speaking on Spice fm on Monday, Kioni said that Mt. Kenya has been fed up with the current administration.
“The people who will force the guy out is Mt. Kenya. The percentage of people who have said enough is enough is beyond anything we had imagined sometime last year,” he said.
The former Ndaragua MP added that Jubilee has come up with a strategy that will see it defeat Ruto in Mt. Kenya in the 2027 general elections.
According to him, the region was widely used to rig the past elections and also Jubilee agents at polling station misled the party.
“Because it was a Jubilee government there was the thinking that civil servants would continue supporting the government or would have done what they had been requested to do that is to ensure that agents are within the party.
“Mt. Kenya was heavily used to rig the elections and one of the reasons is because we in Jubilee also relied on structures that did not belong to the party,” he said.
Kioni noted that in 2027, Jubilee will use volunteer agents who will guard their votes in different polling. This, he says, is a strategy he applied in 2007 to win the Ndaragua parliamentary seat.
“That is how it will be in Mt. Kenya in 2027. Even if William (President Ruto) will be Chebukati in Mt. Kenya they will not steal those votes. Hawataiba,” he said.
