“I Will Be Low Key For A Bit” Winnie Odinga Undergoes Surgery

Date:

Winnie Odinga, the lastborn of Azimio leader Raila Odinga, has come to explain why she has been missing in action.

Through a story she shared on Instagram, Winnie revealed that she injured her leg during the East African Community Inter-parliamentary games in Kigali Rwanda.

The opposition leader’s daughter is among the Kenyan representatives at the East Africa Legislative Assembly(EALA) hence her  participation in the games that ended a few days ago.

She said that she underwent surgery to correct her injury but will maintain a low profile as she recovers.

“Some of you guys have been asking why I have been quiet. I raptured my Achilles tendon during IPG in Rwanda I am all good after surgery but I will be low key for a bit,” she said.

Her injury is similar to what Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwuor aka Jalang’o suffered a while back during a basketball training.

He has since recovered after undergoing surgery.

Mumias East MP Peter Salasya is however among the Kenyan lawmakers who participated in the Inter-parliamentary games.

The lawmaker was however unpleased by the government, claiming that it mishandled MPs.

According to him, Kenyan MPs were subjected to humiliation after the government failed to pay their hotel bills.

“Tunachekelewa ati tumeshindwa kulipa ma hoteli baada ya kudanganywa they will send us money here in Rwanda. If they can lie to members of Parliament, what of the rest? Nimeboeka tu sana they could have told us earlier they won’t send us money to sustain us here .Aibu kubwa kwa nchi, “he shared online.

“Members of Parliament wana kuwa subjected kwa aibu. Na wewe unasema nchi iko sawa. For how long shall we live on a lie? President, wewe ndio Baba wa Taifa. You must take charge and control. You must tell Kenyans the truth. The problem with the President is that, he never tells people the truth. We need to have a national conversation tujue where are we going, ” he further ranted.

“Saa hii tuko hapa Rwanda. Polisi wangenishika mimi. President, watu walikuchagua uwafanyie kazi. Fire your cabinet ministers ambao hawafanyi kazi!”

The games that began on December 4, went on for 12 days.
