ODM staunch supporter Nuru Okanga has claimed that he has been approached by many principals including the Kakamega High School one, after the release of the KCPE results.
According to him, the principals have been calling him, in a bid to have him join their schools for his secondary education.
“Many principals have reached out to me, to join their schools. They however didn’t disclose the details. It is only one that I have followed up and known that he is from my rural home because there was a time we met, he is the principal of Kakamega High,” Okanga admitted.
He also claimed that he would be joining Alliance Boys High School, after successfully completing his primary school education.
“I am expecting to join(high school). I want to go to Alliance. I already have a sponsor. The media people are always scrutinizing me but I want to thank them because they have mentored me. I am going to Alliance High School, boarding,” the 32-year old said in an interview with NTV.
He added that he would be going home every Friday to visit his family just like the principal.
He further advised those who have given up that education has no limits.
“They can go back to school and still study. I have taken the responsibility of going back to school because I want to be a leader,” Okanga said.
Although he declined to disclose what he really scored in KCPE, Okanga said that Mathematics and Science are the only subjects that challenged him.
He also said that he only prepared for the exams for two months. His revision intensified 2 weeks to the exam.
“Many people have been asking when I would study. I would wander during the day but at night… we even quarreled with my wife because I had no time for her at night. I used to place my legs in water so as not to sleep(while studying). I want to thank my teacher, he is a degree holder,” Okanga said.
Roots party leader George Wajackoya hired him a trainer who helped him revise for KCPE.
Okanga’s dream to join Alliance will however only materialize after being placed with the Ministry of Education. The form one placement exercise will kick off on Monday.
Okanga will be vying for MCA seat in 2027. In a previous interview, he said that he would serving only one term for every political post including presidency, when he will be over 70 years old.
