The top candidate in the 2023 KCPE has scored 428 marks out of 500.
The candidate has since been identified as Michael Warutere from Riara Spring academy.
Speaking to the media, Warutere said that he performed best in Mathematic while Science came last with 75 marks.
“I didn’t expect to be the best student. Many people think that those in public schools will get will this top marks but I was surprised to find myself there. I hope to join Mang’u for my secondary school education,” he told journalists.
“Riara springs Academy is the spring of excellence, it has definitely shaped me to who I am today. All in all at God’s own opportune time, your star will definitely shine,” he added.
Emmaculate Wacheke from Gilgil Hills School in Nakuru followed him closely with 427 marks.
The thirds position was taken by Khadija Yunis of Light Academy.
