Kalonzo Musyoka moves to annul Wiper, NASA marriage

Wednesday saw Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka announce his political party’s decision to ditch former prime minister Raila Odinga’s NASA immediately the Covid-19 movement restrictions are lifted.
According to Kalonzo Musyoka, a former deputy vice president, Wiper’s extended role in the opposition is no longer tenable and subsequently, his party delegates will be meeting to ascent to the political split from NASA and then support a new alliance with president Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee party.

“The Nasa Summit has never sat since the election. If a summit cannot meet, let’s be realistic with ourselves, even the Nasa Management Team has not met since”

He was speaking as Wiper signed a collaboration agreement with Jubilee going further to reveal Wiper was in an advanced stage of joining the Jubilee coalition.

Former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto’s Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) also signed a cooperation pact with the ruling party. Jubilee vice-chairman David Murathe, chairman Nelson Dzuya and secretary-general Raphael Tuju presided over the ceremony. Also present were other Wiper and CCM officials.

It is reported that earlier in the day, at the Jubilee headquarters, Uhuru had held a virtual meeting with Ruto and Kalonzo.

The two parties, Wiper and CCM join Kanu which had also come to an agreement to join the Jubilee coalition. The move by Kanu was led by Baringo Senator Gideon Moi just last month.
