Machogu will release the results at the Kenya National Education Council (KNEC) Mtihani House in South C Nairobi.
“Dear Editors, Education CS, Hon. Ezekiel Machogu, will on Thursday, November 23, 2023, release the 2023 KCPE examination results at KNEC’s New Mitihani House, South C, Nairobi, at 8.00am. PS, Dr Belio Kipsang, KNEC CEO Dr David Njengere, among other dignitaries will be present,” a statement sent by KNEC to the newsroom read.
About 1.4 million candidates undertook their KCPE exams and about 1.2 million did the KPSEA exams (Grade 6).
This year’s cohort was the last to undertake the KCPE to pave the way for the full implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) in primary schools which will now see students undertaking KPSEA examinations.
Machogu noted that early release would allow placements to be concluded before Christmas.
“We have done the marking and it is finished and we are going to release the KCPE exams anytime next week and most likely we will also be able to conduct the Form One placement before Christmas so that they can join Form One by at least the third week of January,” Machogu said.
He said the early release of the results will allow parents ample time to look for resources for form one admission.
Candidates for sat for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examination (KCSE) exams are expected to receive their results before the end of December 2023.
