DPP, AG Ordered To Produce Sakaja’s Aide Who Was Kidnapped In Broad Daylight

Date:

High Court Judge Chacha Mwita has ordered the release of Osman Khalif Abdi, who has been missing since November 10, after being abducted by armed men.

The judge has asked the Director of Public Prosecution and the Attorney General to produce Osman at the Milimani Law Courts or any other court on November 17.

Osman previously served as South C MCA.

“If not, they should show cause why the said Osman should not be released,” Chacha directed.

The judge’s order came after Osman’s wife filed an application in court. She told the court that her husband was abducted on November 10, at around 4 pm. She was present at the time of the incident.

“We were just coming out of Sarit when we met about six unidentified armed people who claimed to have been looking for Osman. I proceeded to report the incidents of assault and abduction at Parkland police station but there has been no response,” read the court documents.

Osman’s wife stated that she is worried his life is in grave danger. Her attempts to obtain CCTV footages of the incident from Sarit have not been successful.

“They told me I had to furnish them with a letter from the police officers before they could release the footage to me,” he application further read.

Osman is currently serving as the liaison officer at the Nairobi City County.
