Moses Kuria Comes Clean On Beefing With DP Gachagua

Date:

Public Service CS Moses Kuria has come out to address on going claims that there is a bad blood between him and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Speaking to the press on Monday, Kuria denied existence of any beef between him and the second in command.

He added that he has known Gachagua for long and acknowledged him as his boss.

“I do not have any problem with the Deputy President. He has his roles and he knows the constitution. Constitutionally the DP is my boss. I have known him for a long time even before coming to parliament in 2017,” Kuria said.

He further recounted working with Gachagua while he was serving as Mathira MP. According to him, Gachagua was not his choice for a DP, but when President William Ruto picked him, he decided to throw his weight behind him.

“I had stopped campaigning for myself for a while in 2022. Gachagua and I went across the country to campaign for Ruto,” he recalled.

Kuria and Gachagua are said to be not in good terms because both of them are eyeing Mt. Kenya kingship.

Recently Kuria, used King Charles’ visit to the country to throw a jab at Gachagua.

“Sasa venye King amerudi kwao ( that that the king has returned to the UK), fake Kingpins you can take over,”Kuria stated on X on November 3, after the King and Queen departed the country after a 4-day trip.

On Sunday however, Gachagua put a stop to the kingship debate saying that he wasn’t interested.

“I have read the constitution, there is no provision for a kingpin. Where is the kingpin office? How much is his salary? If there are people who want that office, I am not part of it, I am deputy president,” Gachagua said during a church service in Kiambu.

He also revealed that his problem with Kuria began when decided to support Kimani Wamatangi for Kiambu gubernatorial seat.
