“My Husband Got Into Church And Got Lost” Joyce Gituro Speaks On Her Failed Marriage

Date:

Popular Radio Presenter Joyce Wa Gituro has said that she assumed red flags before her marriage came crumbling down.

Joyce and her estranged husband began dating before she joined KBC. When she landed a job at the national broadcaster, the couple moved in together, but Joyce had a daughter from her previous relationship.

“I had seen a lot of red flags but I assumed them. One of the red flags was insecurity…We were also never friends. Before him, I had a daughter from a previous union,” she said in a candid interview with Jeff Kuria.

The insecurities further played out loud when she moved to Royal Media Services as he would just show up at her work place.

“At Citizen, he would show up and say he wanted to come and see me. Sometimes he would take away the car because I couldn’t go out and see him,” she recounted.

The final blow on the marriage was when the husband joined a church and that was when she lost him completely.

“My husband got into church and he became lost. I tried getting him back without success. I even involved his parents but he never listened. One day he just took his stuff and left for a whole year. The kids would constantly ask where he was, and I had to lie he had died,” Joyce said.

The children were however unconvinced that their father died. They pestered her, forcing her to have a sit down with them so as to explain what truly transpired.

Joyce has however had a successful career in the broadcast media industry. She quit Radio Citizen in 2018 and joined Milele FM.

She also later left the media max owned station and proceeded to Radio Jambo where she hosted a Sunday morning gospel show.
