Kenya Forest Service Chief Conservator Alex Lemarkoko said: “We’re going for those who grabbed forest land…anybody who is inside the forest…anybody who intends to go into the forest, who has a plan, you better just dismantle that plan.”

Numerous reports indicate that the developer insisted he was the rightful owner of the said land vowing to defend its acquisition.

Forestry Principal Secretary Gitonga Mugambi said; “For this to happen, it had to have collusion with some people within our department, especially in the survey unit…we will deal with them accordingly, and take them to court, we must send a clear message that forest land is for the public.”

Addressing the press, community members asked the government to expedite the process and revoke all title deeds issued to individuals grabbing forest land in Ngong.
