Making The Government Work For The People: Moses Kuria Unveils 10 Point Agenda

Date:

Days after taking over the ministry of Public Service, performance and Delivery Management, Moses Kuria has unveiled a 10-point agenda aimed at improving service delivery to Kenyans.

The first agenda is to make the government accountable to the people. This will be achieved through holding Wajibika Town Hall forums across all ministries in counties.

Secondly, his ministry is planning to roll out a digital tracking system for contracts, project delivery and execution and individual performance for the over 99,000 civil servants. The results of the tracking will be shared with the public.

The ministry is also seeking to introduce a digital Ombudsman tool known as Pasha, where the public can report cases of poor service delivery by national government and county government.

“We will transform the NYS into a bastion of hope for young people by making a mandatory leadership college for those who will be absorbed into public service and disciplined forces,” Kuria’s statement further read.

The CS further vowed to transform Kenya into a thought leader in governance by converting the Kenya school of government into African school of government.

Aside from that, Kuria vowed to modernize public service by giving opportunities to young Kenyans and letting go of the aged ones.

“We will give every Kenyan an opportunity to work for the government irrespective of social, economic or political status through a digital, transparent and verifiable hiring tool that will distribute available opportunities across the country while seeking to enjoin the Private Sector and Overseas recruiters to use the same transparent platform for jobs and Internships under the mantra ‘Jobo Bila Connection’,” the statement added.

Others in the list are expanding the huduma network, reforming state owned corporations and enterprises and maximising government efficiency and effectiveness.
