“Bad Manners” Edwin Sifuna Condemns Turkana Leaders For Denying Raila Chance To Speak

Date:

ODM Secretary  General Edwin has weighed on Raila Odinga’s encounter in Turkana on Friday.

Sifuna condemned Turkana leaders saying that it was bad manners for them to invite Raila only for him to be denied chance to address the crowd that had gathered for Turkana cultural festival.

“Its just bad manners. Raila did not invite  himself to the festival. He was invited officially. It is unAfrican to invite a guest to your house only to harangue them the way those Turkana leaders did.

“If the event was a celebration of African culture, they ought to be ashamed of themselves,” he said.

Chaos erupted at the festival on Friday forcing the meeting to end premature with Raila leaving the gathering after being denied chance to speak.

Raila’s supporters were angered by the move and demanded that Raila should speak. At that point, they clashed with governor Jeremiah Lomorukai’s supporters.

Following the unexpected turn of events, Turkana Central MP Joseph Namuar took over the microphone, demanding Raila and his team to leave.

“I cant allow chaotic political rallies that are usually  associated with Nairobi to held here,” he said.

Raila was in the company of Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua, former Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya, Eugene Wamalwa among other Azimio politicians.
