Kanini Kega Reacts After Sabina Chege Lost Case Against Azimio

Date:

Former Kieni MP Kanini Kega has broken silence after Sabina Chege lost bid to have Azimio barred from kicking her out of a parliamentary position.

In a tweet,  Kega claimed that Mt. Kenya leaders were busy destroying each other and only reunite when there is a crisis.

“MT KENYA only UNITES when there is an EXISTENTIAL threat , otherwise we are BUSY pulling each other DOWN. ‘Kinyaiti Proverb,” the EALA MP said.

His tweet came after  a Kiambu court dismissed Chege’s petition, seeking to retain her position as the deputy minority  whip.

Following the court’s ruling, Jubilee party now wants the speaker of the national Assembly to recognize Embakasi West MP as the new deputy minority whip.

“Kiambu High Court has thrown out the petition challenging Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance’s decision to replace Hon. Sabina Chege with Embakasi West MP Hon. Mark Muriithi Mwenje as the Deputy Minority Whip in the National Assembly.

“We now demand that Speaker Moses Wetangula ratifies the decision to allow Hon. Mark Mwenje to serve,” Jubilee said.

Chege landed in trouble with her party for supporting the Kenya Kwanza government. Kega was also suspended from the party on similar grounds.

Jubilee however filed a case at the Milimani law courts accusing some of the suspended leaders of continuing to pose as party officials.

“We filed a contempt case at the Milimani High Court against the rebel group. Despite multiple court orders, the rebels continue to carry themselves as Jubilee Party officials, conduct business on behalf of the Party, and create confusion amongst our members,” Jubilee revealed.

The case will be heard on October 23.
