In a shocking incident that has ignited concerns about the safety of mobile devices, an Infinix phone reportedly exploded while inside a Kenyan man’s coat pocket during his lunch break.
The unexpected occurrence took place at a local hotel, leaving both the phone’s owner and onlookers shocked and anxious about the potential hazards of everyday technology.
The incident unfolded as the man, whose name remains undisclosed, was enjoying his fish lunch at a local food den. The Infinix phone was in his coat’s pocket when it suddenly exploded with a deafening bang, spewing sparks.
Shocked customers and restaurant staff rushed to the man’s aid as he attempted to remove the phone from his coat.
Witnesses described a chaotic scene as the man successfully retrieved the smoking device.
Thankfully, he escaped any serious injuries, but his coat bore visible damage, and he was left bewildered by the unexpected turn of events.
In the aftermath of the incident, the man was heard saying in shock, “Kumbe simu inawezakumaliza,” which translates to “I never thought a phone could finish me.”
“Hii ilikuwa na battery mzuri, sasa mimi nimekaa hapa napiga story, ikalipuka tu shwaaaah, ilikuwa kwa mfuko kwa koti,” he further says.
