Ex Mungiki Boss Maina Njenga’s Whereabouts Unknown Following Abduction Accusations

Date:

Former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga has allegedly been abducted by unknown individuals within Kiambu town.

According to his lawyer, Ndegwa Njiru, Maina Njenga was reportedly abducted from his residence in Kiambu on a fateful Saturday night. Njiru posted on his social media handle, stating, “My client Maina Njenga has been abducted by the DCI from his house in Kiambu….He has been taken to an undisclosed location.”

It has also been reported that Njenga’s brother, Njoroge Kamunya, disclosed that the former Mungiki leader was forcefully removed from his vehicle. This incident has left many netizens wondering what is going on with some saying we are back to the Nyayo era days where such was normal.

Maina Njenga’s whereabouts remain shrouded in mystery.

This is not the first time that Maina Njenga has found himself in the midst of legal troubles. In May, police reportedly conducted raids on his three properties located in Nairobi, Nakuru, and Laikipia counties, further intensifying the scrutiny surrounding his activities.

In July, Maina Njenga faced another ordeal when he was allegedly arrested by the police while in lower Matasia, Ngong, and subsequently taken to an undisclosed location. Later, he was arraigned at Makadara courts, facing a range of charges.

Among the charges brought against Maina Njenga were the possession of offensive weapons, including 14 machetes, 24 Maasai swords, 46 rungus (traditional Maasai clubs), and three jembe sticks. The charge sheet stated that these circumstances raised a reasonable presumption that the said offensive weapons were intended to be used in a manner prejudicial to public order.

In addition to weapons charges, Maina Njenga was also accused of preparing to commit a felony and organizing an unlawful assembly. It’s worth noting that he vehemently denied all the charges brought against him.
