An angry mob took Peter Onyango, a resident of Lukhome in Kiminini sub-county, to the river on Saturday morning, where he was covered in mud and then paraded for the cut in front of people.
The 44-year-old father from Bungoma County avoided the knife for several years before being forcibly circumcised in front of his wife and kids reportedly.
After the cut, Peter Onyango expressed relief, stating he had been made fun of for being “uncut.”
“I realized that he was afraid of the pain but I could not withstand living with him. I am happy that he is now a complete man,” she said.
Amos Sikuku, a neighbor, claimed that the couple had gotten into a fight and that the wife revealed the long-kept secret out of rage.
Janet Musenya, his wife, claimed that for the eight years since their marriage, her husband had avoided the cut, forcing her to make arrangements for his circumcision.
Peter Onyango says, “I appeal on well-wishers to support my family with food for the duration that I will still be nursing the wound since I cannot engage in any work.”
She committed to handling all elements of caring for her husband’s needs until he recovered.
