Raila Odinga Comes Clean On Exiting Politics Ahead Of 2027 General Elections

Date:

ODM leader Raila Odinga arrived in the country on Friday from his Indian trip and immediately proceeded to attend the burial ceremony of Idah Odinga’s bodyguard Barrack Oduor in Siaya county.

Barrack was shot dead after an altercation that emerged between him and the manager of Kisumu’s signature club days ago.

Addressing mourners at the event, Odinga asked those calling for his retirement to refrain from doing so, adding that he will quit politics when the time for him to retire comes.

“When my time to retire from politics comes, I will peacefully exit the stage. There shouldn’t be any discussion about that. Our focus now should be reforming the politics of this country so that democracy may thrive,” the ODM leader said.

Odinga further urged Kenyans not to give up and be strong just as he is. He said he will give directions on his next plans in the near future.

“Do not give up. Be strong because I am not yet tired. Should I give up or continue? I will give directions on the path we shall take when the time is right. Going forward, we want to bring change to our people so that Kenyans can live a comfortable life. That is what service to the nation is all about,” the former prime minister said.
