Lawyer Miguna Miguna on Thursday landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) at exactly 6am as he promised his followers.
According to sources which spoke to Sonkonews, Miguna will head to one of the posh hotels within Nairobi to freshen up before later attending the Mashujaa day celebration scheduled for today.
While travelling, the lawyer updated that after attending the Mashujaa day celebration he will head straight to the statehouse to pay a courtesy call to the president.
“From the JKIA to #MashujaaDay. Then to @StatehouseKenya. Patriots are FREE to be at the JKIA. Freedom is here! Cheers.” He tweeted.
His family, led by his elder brother Eric Ondiek Miguna, were anxiously waiting for his return and were grateful to the new administration for making it possible for the lawyer to come back home after being deported in 2018.
“We were very pleased when he told us that he had been issued his passport and eventually the red alert which was placed on him was lifted. He told us that he will board his flight to Kenya on Wednesday, October 19, and will arrive in Kenya on Thursday,” he told journalists.
The brother added that Miguna lost many relatives while in exile and that he could not be allowed to attend their burials because of the red alert imposed by President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee government.
“Everyone is pleased. So many things happened when he was forced out of the country. We lost so many people. He told us that he would like to visit the deceased when he comes back,” he said
“He would like to attend some funerals. My wife died while he was away. His father-in-law passed on while he was in Canada.” He said.
