Inside Aisha Jumwa’s Plan That Seeks To Absolve Her From Murder charges Ahead Of CS Job Vetting

Date:

Aisha Jumwa is among the Cabinet Secretary nominees that are to be vetted by the Moses Wetang’ula-led committee this Tuesday.

Aisha was nominated as CS for Public Service and gender by president William Ruto but she is currently facing murder charges that are threatening her ascension to the office.

The nominee has however come up with a plan that seeks to absolve her from the murder case, just days after the Director of Public Prosecution applied to withdraw charges of embezzling Kshs19 million CDF funds that she was also facing.

Reports indicate that Aisha has applied to the court and DPP to be a state witness against her bodyguard, Geoffrey Otieno Okudo, who is her co-accused in the murder case.

“Jumwa had written to the DPP and High Court seeking to have her turned into a state witness. She has also initiated talks with the family of the deceased. The family wishes to settle the matter out of court because she was not a principal offender and was not armed,” a local publication revealed.

The publication further stated that DPP has confirmed to have received Jumwa’s application.

Aisha and her bodyguard are believed to be behind the death of an ODM supporter identified as Gumbalo Jola. The incident occurred  in 2019 during the by-elections in Ganda Ward, Malindi constituency.
