Last Minute Attempts By DCI Boss George Kinoti To Save His Job Before Quitting Mysteriously

Date:

President William Ruto on Tuesday announced to the county that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss Mr. George Kinoti had decided to quit.

According to the president, he received the resignation letter from Mr. George Kinoti, forcing him to declare that someone would be gotten to serve temporarily before he can finally be replaced as per the law.

“The commission will get someone to act in that position for now as we wait for the other processes to fill the position,” Ruto said.

Kinoti was on the receiving end from Ruto and his team during the campaign period especially after he busted three Venezuelan citizens that were illegally in possession of sensitive election materials.

Speaking in Kericho county on one particular Sunday, Ruto took a swipe at the Directorate of Criminal Investigation boss and ordered that he should let the IEBC alone so that they conduct the election.

The United Democratic Alliance presidential candidate even reminded George Kinoti that he had failed and he ought not to investigate election matters in the republic of Kenya

With reference to a well detailed letter which showed how the foreigners were illegally in possession of sensitive election materials, Ruto told him not to write such long letters informing Kenyans of such “stupidities” (ujinga) about 3 Venezuelan citizens.

“Mr. George Kinoti don’t be silly. There is nothing meaningful you have done in this country except for overseeing political cases. Save your time and stop writing to us long letters. Leave matters of election to IEBC. You have no business in IEBC. You have failed as DCI. We don’t want you to fail our election.”  Complained Ruto then.

“That Mr. Kinoti must stop his act of pursuing foreigners acting for IEBC because he is annoying us. Leave those people to run the election. You were given work as the DCI but you have only pursued cases in the newspapers. So stop with all these your stupidity and let Chebukati be. Give him space to run the elections. You have failed so wait for August 9th so that you can go home.” Continued Ruto in sustained attacks aimed at the DCI boss.

Well, it has now emerged that after the Kenya kwanza won, George Kinoti tried on many occasions to explain to the new regime that all he was doing was to perform his job and that he had no personal grudge with anyone including president Ruto.

However, sources have revealed to Sonkonews that his pleas fell on deaf ears and president’s handlers were not very comfortable with him. Besides, he was going to be a lonely man in the department of investigation, having lost trust of the incumbent regime. Consequently, the DCI boss had no option but to give up  and resign from his lucrative position.
