ODM Breaks Silence After Babu Owino Accused The Party Of Betrayal And Blackmail

Date:

The Orange Democratic Movement(ODM) has been forced to address claims that cracks have emerged in the party.

Taking to social media, the party said that it was united and focused thus dispelling claims that the biggest ever split was loading.

” We are UNITED, strong and FOCUSED. Good morning,” ODM said.

The statement comes just hours after Babu Owino complained of being betrayed and blackmailed by the party.

The Embakasi East lawmaker claimed that the party was being unfair to the youths by denying them leadership opportunities even though they had sacrificed a lot for the party.

“ODM Party, so many youth and myself sacrificed a lot and used our resources in the party over the years, our pay is betrayal and blackmail . It is OK. Tomorrow is another day,” Babu said.

“@TheODMparty With Due respect, why should Hon John Mbadi come down from the position of Majority leader to PAC chair which was reserved for me. This will not happen!!!Over my dead body…Young people must get their space.. it’s now or never . He has been rewarded through Nomination,” he said.

Further cracks in the party also emerged when John Mbadi complained about Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi being handed the majority leader position instead of him.

“If I am the chairman in ODM and I lead the party outside then I don’t understand why when I come to the house, I am being led by someone who is my junior in the party. No democracy has such an arrangement,” Mbadi said.
