Activist Okiya Omtata made damning allegations against Supreme Court Judge Isaac Lenaola, who was among the Judges that heard and determined the presidential petition.
Omtata had challenged the election of William Ruto arguing that none of the presidential candidates achieved the 50%+ 1 votes threshold to be declared winner.
In an interview, the Busia senator noted that his petition was not addressed by the Supreme Court judges.
“I doubt if I lost the case…they said they dismissed it. It doesn’t mean I lost it, it means they ran away from it. I don’t regret it, I would do it again but would want a different bench of judges,” he said, adding that he was embroiled in a fight with one of the judges, Justice Lenaola, over the matter.
According to him, the judge send him a message on Whatsapp promising him a fight but he vowed to fight back.
“Even one of the judges we are fighting right now…a Supreme Court Judge threatened me on WhatsApp. Justice Lenaola threatened me saying twende and tutaenda Kazi. I am afighter. He is inviting me to a fist fight. A good fight I will fight. Especially coming from a judge of the Supreme Court, I have litigated before you, and you come and threaten me, you don’t get away with it,” Omtatah asserted.
“That is why I say I don’t think my case was addressed, it was dismissed yes, but I don’t think it was addressed,” he further said.
