Fresh Details On President Kenyatta Vacating Statehouse Ahead Of Supreme Court Ruling Emerge

Date:

President Uhuru Kenyatta is believed to be in his final stages of vacating the Statehouse as Kenyans wait patiently for the Supreme Court ruling on the presidential petition.

This is after photos shared on social media showed transport trucks at the Statehouse with reports claiming the trucks were collecting Uhuru’s personal items from the residence.

To support the claims further, former Statehouse Digital strategist and Hustler nation spokesperson Dennis Itumbi alleged that private cars had also been moved from the Statehouse garage.

“State House Watch…. Private Cars – Moved from SH Garage. Private stuff – Moved. Life and its Moments…. In less than 48 hours….” Itumbi said in a tweet.

It has however emerged that the viral photos of  Cube Movers trucks were taken in April 2013 before Uhuru occupied Statehouse.

The photos were shared by media personalities John Allan Namu and Larry Madowo.

Uhuru however began relocating from the statehouse days before the August 9 general elections. He is however expected to remain at the Statehouse until a new president is sworn in. He might however be forced to reside in the residence a bit longer if the Supreme court orders a repeat of the presidential elections, which should be conducted in 60 days, according to the constitution.

The Supreme court will be giving its judgment on the petition on Monday September 5 after an intense hearing that lasted three days.
