Blow To Kenya Kwanza As Azimio Leaders Intercept Their Late Night Rigging Plans In Nairobi

Date:

A section of Azimio leaders have exposed plans by their Kenya Kwanza opponents to rig general elections that were conducted on Tuesday this week.

The leaders discovered thousands of marked  and unmarked ballot papers from Starehe constituency and so far three people are being held at the Central Police station in connection to the matter.

Junet Mohammed, Edwin Sifuna, Nairobi governor Anne Kananu among other leaders from Azimio were present at the station late at night and they told the press that the ballots were discovered by their supporters.

“We actually called the police and we  were also worried that the police would be compromised so everything that is happening now it is not that we did not follow procedure. We followed all the procedures that IEBC has laid out. But unfortunately even giving that indication that something is going on, it has taken our own supporters to find these materials and to actually force the suspects to be brought here,” one of the leaders said.

On the other hand, Junet confirmed that the ballot papers were for all the elective seats in Nairobi ranging from president to MCA and went ahead to question if the elections were credible if such was being witnessed.

“Now this dents the credibility of this election because if  ballot papers can not be carried in a bag and somebody walks with them around town for two good days it is shocking. What kind of election is this. How did this person access these ballot papers? You remember the way ballot papers arrived in this country, they came in a very confusing manner. Some commissioners said that they were not aware of their arrival, this must be happening in all parts of the country” Junet said.
