Foul Play? Wajackoya Reacts After Failing To Vote Over KIEMS Kit Technical Hitch

Date:

Roots party presidential candidate George Luchiri Wajackoya is the only presidential candidate who is yet to cast his vote.

Wajackoya could not cast his vote after the KIEMS kit in Indagalasia polling center, Matungu constituency, where he is supposed to vote, failed.

The candidate arrived at the polling center a few minutes after 10am but no one in the polling center had voted by then due to the technical hitch.

An IEBC official informed him what the issue was, adding that they had communicated the matter to the headquarters.

“I do not understand. Why is it not working? And can’t you just scan our identification documents and we vote? But do not worry. Things happen. As long as we do not go beyond today, we hope these issues are resolved,” he responded.

He however expressed his disappointment over the issue wondering why he was the only presidential candidate who got affected.

“I am disappointed that I have not voted. Why is it that I am the only presidential candidate who hasn’t voted? Why couldn’t they test the Kiems kits? … I stand with God, that’s the only thing I can say. I am not happy but I cannot say anything, what are these people afraid of? Why didn’t they test the kits? The older generation has to go home,” Wajackoya said.

Meanwhile, Azimio la Umoja-OKA  Presidential candidate cast his vote at Old  Kiera primary school. DP William Ruto, on the other hand, cast his vote at Kosachei primary school in Turbo, a few moments after the polling station was opened at 6 am.

The fourth presidential candidate, Waihiga Mwaure of Agano party,  cast his vote at UpperHill Secondary school a few minutes past 7.00 am.

A total of  22,120,458  registered voters are expected to participate in this year’s general elections.
