Omanyala Pulls A Stunning Performance In The Ongoing Commonwealth Games In Birmingham(Video)

Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala has qualified for the semi finals in the ongoing commonwealth games in Birmingham United Kingdom.

Omanyala won heat five of the 100m men’s race after crossing the finish line at 10.07 seconds.

 Eseme Emmanuel from Cameroon settled for the second position with 10.08 seconds. 

Omanyala scored better that the commonwealth 100m defending champion Akani Simbine from South Africa who clocked 10.10 seconds in the second heat of the race.

Simbine is however confident that he will beat Omanyala.

” I am here to defend my title. I know Omanyala has promised a good challenge if we reach the final but I am always ready for that. It’s what will make this event a thriller for the spectators,” he said after the race.

Favour Ashe  from Nigeria won the opening heat in 10 12 sec while Ojie Edoburun from England claimed third heat in 10.27sec. Ekevwo of Nigeria won heat 4 after running for 10.13 seconds.

Others who have qualified for the semis include; Ghanians Sean Safo Antwi (10.33secs) and Benjamin Azamati(10.19), Sri Lanka’s Yopun Abeykoon(10.06), Rohan Browning of Australia among others.
