Female Nairobi Politician Caught Pants Down Impersonating Police During A Live Interview At Inooro TV

Date:

A female Nairobi politician was busted impersonating a police officer during a live political interview at Inooro TV on Wednesday morning.

Monica Wamaitha Gitau, a retired police officer, showed up for the breakfast interview in full police attire thus raising questions among viewers how it is possible for her to be a politician and at the same time in police uniform.

A screenshot of the live facebook video of Monica’s ibnterview. The video has since been deleted.

“Am like….is it in order to dress in a police uniform when she’s already retired and taking a political side? Isn’t this giving an impression like the police force is becoming political? She’s retired,..let her drop any police paraphernalia in her political pursuits,” one of the viewers raised the concern on Facebook.

“Being an X cop she is not supposed to wear a police uniform…in fact prior to resigning she should have returned all police paraphernalia!” another noted.

The concerns reached Kilimani based Police officers who swung into action and arrested the politician immediately.

“Police officers based at Kilimani Police Station today received information of an ongoing interview at Inooro TV hosting an alleged uniformed female police officer as a panelist. Doubting the credibility of the interviewee, police officers rushed to the TV station from where they arrested Monica Wamaitha Gitau, a civilian and an aspirant for the Nairobi Women MP seat in full police uniform. She is currently assisting with investigations for the offense of impersonating a police officer,” read a report  by the National Police Service.

NPS further called upon media houses to liaise with the police spokesperson or regional commanders to avoid such situations.

“To avoid similar incidents in the future, National Police Service wishes to advise all Media Houses to always liaise for clearance with the Office of the Police Spokesperson or respective regional or county commanders over all requests for interviews with police officers,” the police service advised
