The country’s emergency response committee has heavily condemned party goers who were spotted partying at Langata’s 1824 club on Madaraka Day.
A video displaying a large crowd of people having the time of their lives at the club was shared on Twitter showing how revelers ignored the crucial social distancing rules.

The National Emergency Response Committee (NERC), which is led by Health CS Mutahi Kagwe, put out a statement on Wednesday, June 3, condemning the acts that put many lives in danger.
The statement lamented how the youth had decided to defy government guidelines while also calling the club owner a greedy person who did not care whether people contract coronavirus or not.
“No one should be surprised why we have cases rising in Langata. Our young people have decided not to follow the government guidelines. And obviously a greedy Kenyan who does not care whether people contract the disease or not,” the statement read.
In the video, some of the youth could be seen holding each other suggestively while many seemed not too worried to wear a mask. There were also a couple showing off on a superbike, riding in the middle of the club with the lady twerking while still on top of it.
This obviously caused a stir on social media with many condemning the acts considering just how many people back at home were being put at risk.
There were those who felt the Kenyan government had actually allowed things of such manner to happen considering some politicians were doing the same.
