Contrary to what many believed that Nelly Oaks was fully dependent on musician Akothee as his sugar mami, the man has finally opened up on how he used to earn his money.
Through his social media handle, Nelly Oaks hinted that he used to hustle hard like any other man out there and that he was not being given everything by Akothee.
“Built not bought, hustle not handed, earned not given.” Wrote Nelly Oaks on his social media handles.
The sentiments by Nelly Oaks come just a few days after celebrated Kenyan musician and businesswoman Esther Akoth aka Akothee confirmed that they were no longer in a romantic relationship with her boyfriend and manager Nelly Oaks.
Akothee went ahead to reveal that she wanted to focus on promoting her new album as opposed to being in love commitments.
She added that it was not the first time to break up and that her separation with Nelly Oaks ought not to shock or worry her fans.
“I have walked out of other relationships with different ups & downs, so this last one shouldn’t be a shock or a surprise.
“It’s just a personal decision, I need time to concentrate on my new Found happiness with less destruction, I need to work on myself and my career, I am not ready for any commitment,” Akothee said.
However, the sentiments by Nelly Oaks that she never depended on Akothee drew mixed reactions with Kenyans telling him the following:
“Social media surely can kill someone! Trying to connect the dramas of love just the other day, #follow up your instincts man.”
“You should whisper to your brother in the same scenario Guardian angel mwambie it’s your turn both of you kutafta watoto sasa.”
“Do your thing Nelly. It’s your life and you owe no one an apology.”
“I came to know the name Nelly Oaks from akothee, she built you,she made you famous, whatever the difference, which happens everywhere even from your current chick,Akothee deserve apart from job well done”
“So at long last you have realized…..We settle down kijana you almost messed your life up!”
