Wiper leader Steven Kalonzo Musyoka is a man on a mission and is not just ready to give the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga peace of mind.
Sonko News has since leant that Kalonzo Musyoka plans to hold a parallel meeting at the Steven Kalonzo Musyoka Command Center, the same time Raila will be unveiling his runningmate at the Kenyatta International Conference Center (KICC).
According to the insiders of the Wiper party, they hope to divide the attention of Kenyans so that the event at the KICC is not given much focus.
This comes in the wake of the Wiper boss threatening that he would go to court today on Monday so that he withdraws from the Azimio coalition in case he is not named the runningmate.
Manzo who addressed the media on Sunday evening made it clear that they will quit the coalition if they are not called for a discussion by the Azimio team prior to the announcement.
Kalonzo has been giving threats to Raila Odinga that it has to be him or the highway. Infact, the Wiper leader even said that the ODM leader will not make it to the presidency if he does not select him as the runningmate.
It is not clear who Raila Odinga will choose as his deputy although the selection panel ranked former Gichugu member of parliament Martha karua highly followed by others such as Peter Kenneth, kalonzo Musyoka and Murang’a woman rep sabina Chege.
The announcement by Raila today comes just a day after Deputy president William Samoei Ruto settled on the mathira member of parliament Rigathi Gachagua as his runningmate
William Ruto while appointing Rigathi gachagua described him as an astute politician who understood the bottom up economic model. He also revealed that he had worked with the Mathira member of parliament on many occasions hence it was only appropriate that he make him his deputy.
