“It Is Just By Law” Singer Bahati Gives A Candid Explanation Why He Chose Jubilee Over UDA

Date:

Earlier this week, Bahati caused a storm on the internet when he shed tears during a press conference revealing that he had been asked to step down from the Mathare parliamentary race.

Bahati’s nomination certificate was recalled after winning fairly and squarely over claims that Mathare was an ODM zoned area and because ODM and Jubilee are partners, it will only be fair if Jubilee will not present a candidate.

The aspirant who is keen on representing his hometown could not stomach the  idea  of being denied such a golden chance but still insisted he won’t go independent as most candidates prefer whenever a party turns their back on them. Bahati hopes that Jubilee won’t betray him all the same.

He insists on representing the Mathare people in parliament, not because politics is the only way to address their problems but it is one of the major ways.

The artist also stated his reasons for supporting Jubilee and not UDA yet he had worked with both president Uhuru Kenyatta and  DP William Ruto in previous elections.

“Every leader is anointed by God and at the moment the leader that has been placed on this seat is his excellency Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta. Let him finish his term and go. We respect the sitting president. You don’t fight with the sitting president. He is anointed by God for that season, so you respect. It is just by law, this is the father of the house, when he says we switch off the light and go to sleep that is what we do.,” Bahati said while speaking to Dr. King’ori, adding that  it is his right to support whoever he wants.

“Our country has reached a point where we give everyone freedom to support anyone, freedom to associate with everyone. It is my right to be where I want.
