Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya is serving his second term and final term as the governor of Kakamega county.
The incumbent was elected first in 2013, following promulgation of the 2010 constitution that saw Kenya embrace the devolved system of governance.
He was elected under an ODM ticket and is also one of the Deputy party leaders of the party that is headed by the former prime minister Raila Odinga.
The former chairman of council of governors began his political career in 2002 where he was elected as the Member of Parliament for Butere constituency in the General Elections. He also served as the minister of state planning in former president Mwai Kibaki’s final term.
Aside from politics, the governor is a certified public accountant with over 25 years of experience of financial management both in local and international firms.
Oparanya was born in Emabole village in Butere, Kakamega county on March 25, 1956 and it is at the village where his palatial rural home sits.
According to photos that surfaced online, the home has a one storey mansion that is fully furnished with modern furniture and royal carpets.
The house sits on a big piece of land covered with green grass and a garden of flowers and shrubs surrounding it.
The exterior is painted cream yellow with a red rooftop. The mansion is fitted with glass-window panes that block those who are outside from having a glimpse of the interior.
Here are the photos of the beautiful home.
