Months after being ignored on stage by Diamond, Comedian Jaymo Ule Msee has come out to address the viral clip.
The incident occurred back in December 2021 during the launch of Diamond’s betting company Wasafi Bets.
According to Jaymo, he was at the event since he had been sent to represent Odi Bets as a brand ambassador and his job was to ensure that all his fans and followers know that Odi bets had launched a sister company.
“I didn’t go there by myself. It is actually the boss of the company that had taken me there which is Odi bets, they were launching their sister company which is Wasafi bets in Tanzania and Jaymo had one job which was to ensure that people who know Jaymo and listen to him know that Odi bets had launched Wasafi bets,” he said in an interview with Eve Mungai.
Jaymo added that he went to the stage under clear instructions from his bosses to get photos that will prove Odi bets presence in the launch of Wasafi bets.
“The reason why we were called on stage was to get images and videos so that people would know that we were there. If that incident happened out there, me looking for Diamond, it is worth it,” Jaymo said.
He was keen to ensure that he does not let down his boss and that is why he was so persistent in ensuring that he gets a clear photo with Diamond even though the Wasafi boss was uninterested.
“I wanted a good photo. The guy that I gave my phone to take the photo messed up. I didn’t know any of the camera men there so the only photo I would have trusted was from my phone so I gave the guy my phone. The photos were however not satisfying and yet I had a job. But there were other good photos which people never focused on,” Jaymo explained.
“People like laughing at others, me being one of them and that’s why I joined people in laughing at myself,” he added.
He however vowed to do the same thing in future in separate events given that he is on an assignment saying that he will get photos and videos at all costs.
Asked why he couldn’t openly tell Diamond his intentions, the comedian said,” I was on a job, Diamond was at the event because he was working so everybody was doing his work, I don’t report to Diamond. If I wanted a good photo with Diamond, we sat in his car outside the event together with the boss for like 40 minutes.”
