Flossin Mauwano, 30-Year Old Man Who Has Left Kenyans Dumbfounded After Doing This On Nairobi Expressway

Date:

Flossin Mauwano, a graffiti artist, was surprised to  find himself trending on Twitter for the better part of Monday morning.

This is after his graffiti was spotted on the Nairobi expressway pillars thus raising questions of how he was able to reach the top and plaster his name there.

Taking to his Twitter account, he said that it has taken years of suffering and struggling only to see people talking about him today.

“After so many years of suffering and struggling I’m waking up to see Flossin Mauwano trending. Ha,” Mauwano wrote.

A number of Kenyans had mixed reactions over the development with blogger Robert Alai calling for his arrest for defacing structures across the country.

“Flossin Mauwano should be arrested and charged for defacing our infrastructure. You can’t have people throwing gang signs around. Nairobi is not gangland,” Robert Alai said on Twitter.

“Now huyu Flossin Mauwano ni nani. How did he reach that heights. How can he be everywhere and nowhere at the same time,”Juspher Wendo questioned.

“Flossin Mauwano should come out faceless, we identify with him and maybe vote for him for Nairobi governor, How now?, Ruks Ke asked.

The name Flossin Mauwano has been plastered on highways across Nairobi, with some wondering who is the man behind the writings. Some associated the name with criminal gangs as others considered it a political outfit but the truth of the matter is that the writings have been there over the years.

The story behind his writings is  a sad one.  Flossin Mauwano is a 30 year old man born as Stephen Mule. He has the name Flossin tattooed on his forehead.

In an interview earlier this year, the 30-year old revealed that he watched his parents die in a road accident.

“In 1997, I watched my parents get knocked down on the highway (along Langata Road) while escaping an irate crowd of youths following the election violence that erupted that year. The vivid picture of their lifeless bodies has forever been embedded in my head since then,” he said.

He however resolved to make the writing on blackspots so as to caution drivers of what is expected of them on reaching such places but many fail to understand.

“I thought of how I could help, road signs were present but no one cared about them. As an artist I thought of how to combat the menace and came up with the slogan. It sounds mysterious but go check, most of the signings are around blackspots. This is something I took upon myself and I never explain it to anyone. I mark the place and move on,” he said.
