Popular Kamba gospel singer Stephen Kasolo is always trending for the wrong reasons thus raising questions on the kind of gospel music he does.
For a number of times, Kasolo has made Kenyans wonder who listens to his music and where his morals lie with the kind of his behavior which he sometimes blames on his hot temper.
His childhood was however a quite challenging one. According to sources, Kasolo’s parents left him with his two siblings at a tender age. Unfortunately, his sister passed on while his brother developed mental illness. He was however adopted and managed to complete his studies.
The controversial singer came into the limelight in 2016 after releasing a song dubbed Kitole which means okay.
Here are the 4 times that he has been involved with controversies.
1.Threatening to strangle his daughter for breaking a water bottle
This is the current reason why the singer is trending. A video surfaced on social media over the weekend with Kasolo subjecting his daughter to trauma by telling her that he will strangle and kill her for breaking his expensive water bottle. The video elicited reaction with Kenyans calling for action against the 28-year old.
Kasolo however asked for forgiveness saying that he will never repeat the same.
” I want to take this opportunity to apologize to my baby @ShineKasolo and all our fans for the video which is going viral. I never meant any harm to my daughter and I never will, nevertheless it has brought a lot of tension on social media. Kindly forgive me this will never happen again. I am sorry even before God,” he said on Facebook.
2.Referring to fellow gospel artist as a devil and evil woman
In April last year, Kasolo was on the spot for referring to gospel singer Fortune Mwikali as a devil and an immoral woman. He went ahead and informed other gospel artists and pastors against associating with Fortune since she was a conniving woman and would infect them with various diseases. He also said that she had been begging him to be her husband yet he had a wife and child.
3.Accused of Being Gay and seeking dark powers to make money.
Fortune also took to social media to accused Kasolo of being gay and using dark powers to get rich.
According to her, the musician once wore her dress and went to spend time with a foreigner for two weeks. She claimed they were involved romantically.
That is not the only time that Kasolo was being accused of being gay. Weezdom, Bahati’s former manager and also gospel singer, also accused him of the same.
Kasolo however claimed that Weezdom was the one who was gay because he was always seeking money from fellow men.
4.It is alleged that she manipulated Rose Muhando by pushing her into drugs
This was back in 2018 when Rose Muhando also made headlines for the wrong reasons. Muhando was accused of procuring an abortion, using drugs and she was eventually seen in Pastor Ng’ang’a’s church undergoing exorcism.
Then, Kasolo had known Rose Muhando for three years and they had even released a song in November. Questions were raised about Muhando’s state of mind and all the blame fell on Kasolo. It was claimed that he was manipulating her and pushed her to use drugs and even forced an intimate relationship with her. Kasolo however denied the claims urging those with evidence to come forward and prove it.
” Some people claim I have been hiding her. That’s not true. As a matter of fact, Rose’s relatives came for her to help her get further treatment and she left the country,” he said in an interview with The Nairobian back then.
In an interview back in July the same year, Rose was recorded speaking well of Kasolo.
“Kwa kweli Mungu amenipa roho ye kumpenda kama vile mwanamke anapompenda mume wake,” the Nibebe hitmaker explained.
