Retired pilot and Sport Pesa CEO Ronald Karauri has surprised netizens after revealing that he had just stopped at his former high school to pick his certificate.
Karauri was a student at Mang’u Highschool over 20 years ago, and he had never picked up his certificate to date.
“Took a trip back to Mangu High to pick my KCSE certificate that I had never picked up all these years. Very nostalgic and really great effort from the teaching team keeping the standards despite the huge increase in number of students,” he shared on his social media.

The captain also has a dining hall at the school named after his name, according to the photos he shared.
Many wondered how he was so successful yet he never bothered about his certificate, or even required to use it in his journey to success.
“Mhesh, without the certificate, how did you become a pilot? Anyway, all the best to be our MP for Kasarani constituency. Tunakungoja kwa ground.
“Kwani ulikua mtoto wa dynasty..na vyenye me nilisumbuliwa ate lazma nchukue result n certificate ndio nipewe kazi ya poshomill,” another follower commented.
Others however suggested that he was a child of the dynasties and that is how he was successful without the certificate.
Karauri however responded to the concerns saying that he has been using his results slip all along.
“For those asking, I’ve been using my results slip every single time when required,” Karauri said.
After completing high school, Karauri, the son of former Tigania MP, joined the University of Nairobi to pursue a mechanical engineering course but he never completed. He dropped out during his third year of study after coming across a training opportunity by Kenya airways.
Karauri picked up the opportunity and trained as a pilot. That was way back in 2000.
He however resigned from being a pilot after 15 years of service and ventured into the betting business.
The 44-year old is also the owner of  Skylux Lounge, a club in Westlands and his salary estimated to be over Kshs12
He will be vying for the Kasarani Parliamentary seat in the coming elections
