Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday, February 28, revealed to the world that there were plans to kill him anytime by the ruthless Russian mercenaries.
According to reports by The Times, more than 400 Russian Mercenaries are operating in Kyiv under Kremlin orders to assassinate president Volodymyr Zelensky.
Further, the mercenaries are reported to be preparing grounds in Ukraine’s city Kyiv to prepare the ground for Moscow to take control in the next 48 hours.
Indiatoday.in reports that The Wagner Group, according to a private militia run by one of President Putin’s closest allies and operating as an arm-length branch of the state, flew in mercenaries from Africa five weeks ago on a mission to decapitate Zelenskyy’s government in return for a handsome financial bonus.
However, this information reached the government of Ukraine on Saturday morning reports The Times and hours later, Kyiv declared a 36 hour “hard” curfew to sweep the city for Russian saboteurs, warning civilians that they would be seen as Kremlin agents and risked being “liquidated” if they stepped outside, the report stated.
In fact, the United States of America had prior intelligence that there were plans to harm President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. As a result, the U.S. government offered to evacuate him but the defiant Zelenskyy rejected the offer.
According to him, all he wanted was ammunition and not a ride that would make him abandon his citizens at the time of need.
“‘The fight is here; I need ammunition, not a ride,’” Zelenskyy told the U.S., says the tweet. “Ukrainians are proud of their President,” it continues.
Zelenskyy went ahead to post videos from the streets of Kyiv to encourage citizens to keep fighting as Russian forces used all the means possible to take over the capital city of Ukraine.
“We have withstood and are successfully repelling enemy attacks. The fighting goes on,” he said in a video posted to social media.
In another video captioned ‘do not believe the fakes,’ Volodymyr Zelinkskyy spoke from the streets of Kyiv and made it very clear that he would stand his ground.
“I am here. We are not putting down arms. We will be defending our country, because our weapon is truth, and our truth is that this is our land, our country, our children, and we will defend all of this,” he said on Saturday morning.
There has been a trail of destruction across Ukraine after Russia invaded the country on February 24th 2022. According to the United Nations, the conflict has already claimed 68 civilian lives with approximately 368,000 Ukrainians fleeing to the neighboring countries.
Classified Reports also show that both Russia and Ukraine have lost most of their military personnel in the unnecessary war. Russia has been the biggest casualty though because they have lost many soldiers who were sent to invade Ukraine.
