The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Amollo Odinga and the Wiper leader Steven Kalonzo Musyoka on Saturday attended the Jubilee party National Delegates Conference (NDC) held at the Kenyatta International Conference Center (KICC).
The two former National Super Alliance (NASA) principals Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka sat close to one another years after avoiding each other at least in public.
Despite that, it was completely strange since the ODM and the Wiper boss stayed tight lipped without talking to each other. Not even the jokes peddled around the KICC room could make the two leaders smile at each other.
In other words, it must have been the longest day for Mr. Odinga and Mr. Musyoka to sit near one another with no word. This was completely strange for the two leaders who were close buddies sometimes in 2013 and 2017 general elections.
Other leaders who attended Jubilee’s National Delegates Conference (NDC) at KIC were the DAP-K party leader Wafula Munyinyi, Cyrus Jirongo, Amason Kingi, Charity Ngilu, governor Ali Roba, Mr. Lonyangapuo and KANU chairman Gideon Moi.
While speaking, Kalonzo Musyoka congratulated president Uhuru Kenyatta for revamping the party and offering not only leadership but also a sense of direction that had been lacking in the Jubilee party.
A day earlier, the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principals under the leadership of Mr. Kalonzo hinted at working with Raila when they stated that their individual parties would officially be part and parcel of Azimio alliance.
“OKA is in talks with Jubilee and ODM to form a coalition to be known as Azimio One Kenya Alliance,” Kalonzo told a news conference late Friday,
Kalonzo’s sentiments were reiterated by Gideon Moi who wrote the following in his social media handle:
“We have initiated dialogue with political formations – Jubilee and ODM – because of our shared ideals of a united nation anchored on the rule of law and sustainable development. Addressing the media together with H.E Kalonzo Musyoka and Hon Cyrus Jirongo at SKM Center.”
The OKA principals under the leadership of Kalonzo Musyoka, Gideon Moi, and Cyrus Jirongo addressed the nation from the OKA secretariat (Stephen kalonzo Musyoka Center Command Center) in karen.
The leaders also said that they would soon come up with their presidential candidate who would spearhead the talk with like minded political coalitions in the country.
