Kenya Kwanza troops on Tuesday camped in Kakamega county including Khwisero to popularize their agendas in a bid to win more voters.
The team, under the leadership of Deputy President William Ruto, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetang’ula met the residents of Likuyani, Shinyalu, Khwisero, Mumias, Lumakanda and Sabatia.
In most of the places, the reception was well but in Khwisero, DP Ruto had a not so easy time while addressing the locals.
As DP was making his speech, a group of youths could be heard chanting Azimio, which is Kenya Kwanza’s biggest competitor in the general elections slated for August 9.
“We shall remove the few rude people so that there can be equality in Kenya. People of Kwhisero will we walk together?” he posed.
As others agreed to DP Ruto’s call others responded by saying, “Azimio.”
The DP however continued giving his address even as the Azimio chants got louder and louder.
“Am asking you Kwisero locals do you want amendments of the constitution first or the economic growth. You want to grow the economy first. Those whom we are competing with want to first change the constitution so that the powers of the president are increased and also leadership positions,” the DP proceeded.

Earlier on in Likuyani, Ruto told off president Uhuru Kenyatta who had criticized his campaigns saying that he should be working in office instead of politicking.
Ruto said that offices can only be used to implement theories and not practical activities. He also reminded Uhuru that he has been in politics for the longest time and knows what he is doing.
“I have been in politics long enough that you plan theory in offices but you execute practicals in the field, sometimes on top of cars. So hauna haja ya kusumbuana” said William Ruto.
