One Reason Why Speaker Justin Muturi Was Locked Out Of OKA Volcanic Just Like Wanjigi

Date:

National Assembly speaker Justin Muturi was expected to be among the members of the reformed One Kenya Alliance (OKA).

This is because the speaker had earlier this year said that he would be working with the alliance after its principals paid him a visit at his residence.

That was before Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetang’ula quit to join forces with Deputy President William Ruto, forming the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

“Going forward, OKA and I will be working together for the benefit of this country. We need to maintain peace knowing that there is tomorrow,” said Muturi.

Muturi was also one of the people who were disappointed when Mudavadi invited DP William Ruto to his National Delegates Conference on January 23, 2022 and even stayed off the meeting.

OKA however reformed after the split and currently comprises of Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, UDP’S Cyrus Jirongo, Gideon Moi of KANU  and Martha Karua of Narc Kenya leaving out Jimmi Wanjigi who was considered as  the fourth principal.

The parties under the reformed coalition signed an agreement on Wednesday for the principals to have full ownership of the coalition.

Muturi has however claimed that he missed out on the OKA meeting on Wednesday because his party, Democratic Party, did not send him while arguing that it would have been selfish for him to enter the agreement as an individual.

“So many questions as to why I skipped OKA’s meeting yesterday. My party did not send me. I cannot go there as an individual because I represent my party and Kenyans at large. Furthermore, I have the interest of my people at heart, and I will be very selfish if I engage with other parties without their approval.
