Mike Sonko Opens Up On When He Almost Committed Suicide Inside City Hall

Date:

Former Nairobi county governor Mike Sonko has opened up on an instance that he almost took his own life way before he was ousted.

This comes after reports on the death of Capital FM’s DJ Alex Nderi popularly known as DJ Lithium who allegedly took committed suicide while at the station’s offices.

While reacting to the DJ’s death, Sonko said that men undergo stress and pressure but they don’t open up like women do.

“DJ Lithium commits suicide at Capital FM offices. Aki sisi Wanaume at times we go through a lot of stress and depression and don’t open up to friends like how women discuss their issues with fellow women because 90% of our own silent enemies are our own friends,” the Ex-governor shared on social media.

Narrating his own incident, Sonko said that he almost took his life when his close friends betrayed him after inciting him to disrespect the head of state only for them to go and report him later.

“There was a time I almost committed suicide at city Hall after realizing my close friends at the county assembly and one from EALA incited and advised me to start war together with a certain friend of mine after realizing NMS was being handed over to a military personnel after they saw a lot of money was being channeled there.

“We sat down as friends and discussed, they incited me to go against the boss and at the same time they went to him and told him ‘see how Sonko is rebelious it is better we kick him out’. That’s when I knew that which eats you is within you. Be aware of friends who pretend to be loyal in the face but in the heart they are poisonous. RIP DJ LITHIUM,” Sonko said.

He however noted that those frenemies will pay for their ill motive no matter how long it takes.
